Terms and Conditions
A non refundable deposit of £20 per room is required to secure a booking. This can be paid via debit/credit card or by cheque made payable to Ad Astra. There is a £1 charge for all deposits paid by debit and credit card. You may, on arrival, pay the balance with a debit or credit card with no further charge.
If you cancel your booking after 2pm less than 2 days prior to your arrival date the cost of the first nights stay is payable.
Bookings made later than the cancellation period, i.e, less than 48 hours prior to the arrival date, must be paid in full at the time of booking.
If you fail to take up your booking by 10pm on the day of arrival (without prior agreement) the cost of the first nights stay will be taken from the card. In the event of us taking money as a result of a late cancellation or a 'no show' we will notify you in writing.
We have 4 dog friendly rooms. If these rooms are available, small dogs with well behaved owners are welcome at a charge of £10 per dog per week or part of. Assistance Dogs are accepted free of charge.
- Please bring your dog's bed/blanket. Dogs are NOT permitted on our beds. Please respect subsequent guests and do not allow dogs on beds or furniture
- Dogs must be kept under control at all times and kept on a lead when outside your room
- Dogs must not be left in the room unattended (apart from during breakfast)
- Dogs are not permitted in the dining room (with the exception of Assistance Dogs)
- Dogs must be “exercised” away from the house; the beach is only 100 yards away! Please clean up after your dog and keep the beach lovely for everyone, Bags are available on request
- We require an emergency mobile contact number for guests staying with dogs
Normal check-in time on the day of arrival is between 2pm and 8pm and check out time is by 10am on the day of departure. Earlier or later check-in and/or check-out times may be possible by prior arrangement. Please phone to discuss your requirements. Failure to check out by 10am on the day of departure, without prior agreement, will result in the cost of a further nights stay being payable
Refunds will not normally be given for early departures
In compliance with Chapter 28 of the Health Act 2006 it is against the law to smoke in any room in Ad Astra guesthouse. Any guest or visitor wishing to smoke MUST go outside away from the entrance to do so. A cigarette bin is provided. Anyone found to be smoking in the rooms will be asked to leave with no refund. A £100 charge to cover deep cleaning costs and loss of income will be made to the card provided. If after a guest has checked out evidence of smoking is found, a charge of £100 to cover deep cleaning costs and loss of income will be made to the card provided. In this event a letter of explanation and receipt will be sent to the address provided at registration.
Full English, Vegetarian and Vegan Breakfasts are offered as standard. Other diets can be catered for with prior notification. Please discuss at booking. All items on the menu are subject to availability . We do not use nuts in any of our breakfast dishes but can not guarantee that any food is nut free as we use nuts in our kitchen
Ad Astra cannot accept responsibility or liability for accidents, loss or damage to persons or property whilst staying at or visiting this establishment
Making a booking implies you have read and accept these terms and conditions

These all sound really officious, but we are really nice people who just want everyone to have a lovely stay so we have drawn up these terms and conditions so that everyone knows what is what and can relax and enjoy their stay.
